Lab will focus on cloud security, detection of malicious code, and the security of mobile applications
Fairfax, Va., June 24, 2011 — Coveros, Inc., a company that helps organizations accelerate the delivery of secure and reliable software, today announced the formation of Coveros Labs (research.coveros.com) – a research laboratory focused on developing innovative technologies to enable secure software applications. The company also announced the hiring of Dr. Mark Fenner to drive Coveros Labs forward.
Coveros Labs will concentrate its research on:
- Securing cloud-based platforms, infrastructure, and applications
- Detection of sophisticated malicious code
- Security of mobile applications
- Defensive software design and coding
- Secure continuous integration

Dr. Mark Fenner joins Coveros from Norwich University in Vermont where he was an Assistant Professor of Computer Science. Prior to Norwich, Dr. Fenner was a Researcher and Teaching Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Fenner holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.S. in Computer Science from Allegheny College. His research interests include software security, machine learning, and operating systems.
